Forest Schools

At Eveline day nursery all of our Explorers (aged 3yrs plus) participate in ‘Forest School Learning”

This is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning.

The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of all ages to discover and learn through positive outdoor experiences.

Forest schools use the woods and forests as a means to build independence and self-esteem in a natural environment. It develops motivational, emotional and social skills, through self-awareness so that all children can be developed to their full potential.

Forest schools have demonstrated success with children of all ages who visit the same local woodlands on a regular basis and through play, have the opportunity to learn about the natural environment.  Children learn how to take risks and most importantly to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others. Going to the woods in all-weather children learn how to use tools, play, learn boundaries of behaviour both physical and social. All children grow in confidence, self-esteem and become motivated.
