Principal's Statement

The Philosophy and attitude which shaped our first Nursery still holds good. Our aim has always been to help the child in his/her all round development, to supplement the home but not a substitute for it. We try to provide an extension of the home with a close relationship between parents and staff.

Our Nursery Schools are entirely child centred and the environment planned with the needs of the Nursery child in mind. The daily routine/programme is geared to the level of the children's development allowing ample freedom in the choice of occupations but at the same time having a routine.

The teacher has an important part to play in the provision of activities and play materials. The children need materials which allow them to think and offer scope for experimental, creative and constructive work. The teacher must know her children individually, each child is an individual - she/he must try and get to know the emotional, social and educational needs of each child.

We believe that each child will grow and develop at his/her own rate, although the better the environment and the more the child's brain is stimulated, the nearer each child will be to attaining their full potential.
